As you may or may not know, I’m pretty active on Instagram and it’s where I get the majority of my blog traffic. Because of it, I came across an interesting article that I would like to share with you. I read an article found on MediaKix and I couldn’t believe it. I knew that people could buy followers but also I didn’t know that software has gotten so advanced that you can now purchase likes and comments. That’s just crazy and incredibly lazy! Who would have thought to make money off of other people by buying Instagram followers and comments? But then again, I always wondered how folks were able to get so many followers, likes, and engagements on their photos. I just assumed it was through tons of networking and manual work, which is what I’m doing now.
Before I continue, I’d like to share that links below may contain my affiliate links. What it means is that I could receive a small commission if you click on a link to the product or service that I use myself and recommend to you.
This was how it started. I was curious on finding more info regarding becoming an Instagram Influencer. The reason for it was that I was starting to get a lot of friend requests from people who are into photography, cars, travel, and food. At first, I thought that it was cool that they somehow found my page even though we’re not in the same niche. Keep in mind that these pages have over 13 thousand followers and more. I know I use a lot of hashtags to get my photos out there but I was starting to think that something was up when I would get these friend requests almost every day.
So I did my research, and Google took me to an article on MediaKix called Are Fake Instagram Influencers Deceiving Brands?
In this article, they created two accounts and started buying Instagram followers, comments and even likes. They built up their followers for each page so that they could apply each page to become an influencer. Although their strategy sounds tempting and easy to do, it’s a huge no-no that is a recipe for disaster. It could just be me but I’m just amazed that our favorite accounts could be so deceitful.
Here’s why buying Instagram followers and comments is a big no-no.
When you decide to buy fake engagements, keep in mind that you are getting people that are not interested or even willing to engage with you. You’re just purchasing numbers from these fake accounts. With these fake engagements, you’re letting the fraudulent of a service gain access to your Instagram account to send out messages to your followers that may result in spamming. You do not want to annoy your legit followers and ruin whatever reputation you may have left.
You lose your reputation and trust of your real followers.
When buying Instagram followers and comments, your legit followers will see suspicious activity on your account. How do you go from 250 followers to 5,000 followers in a matter of days? Red flag! People catch on quick. They know how authentic a person can be on their page, blog, writing and so on.
Buying Instagram Followers and Comments can Get You Deleted!
Why take the risk of building your Instagram page from the ground up with these fake engagements and getting yourself deleted? It’s not worth it. Instagram actually checks and delete these fake accounts.
The moral of the story is, be true to your followers on your Instagram page. No one likes to hang out with fakes. You work hard to connect with real people and socializing with all of your followers. Don’t destroy it because you want to see big numbers. Staying true to your followers and to yourself will eventually get you the big numbers, but just be patient because it takes time.
Remember, Buying Instagram Followers and Comments is a Huge No-No….and that goes for any other social media platforms as well.
