Here are some creative ways I do to save money on my groceries

CHECKOUT51 – This site offers cash back offers on many different items that you shop for on a weekly basis. Definitely, helps keep your grocery budget low but it’s even better when you can get cash back. They also have an app available to download to make planning for your next grocery shopping trip easier.

$5 Meal Plan – This has been such a time saver for me! This relates to my resource above on grocery shopping. I struggled with meal prepping because I just don’t have the time to spend looking for recipes. I decided to try this out because I have seen popular bloggers mention it and curiosity got the best of me. The system sends my recipes and shopping list sent to me every Friday and the recipes are so easy to cook. Time has always been against me and this service definitely helps me.

A lot of parents in the finance community share many different ways when it comes to finding a side hustle to earn extra income and pay off debt. They’re all about providing for their family while providing a future without any worry about finances.

Blogging as a side hustle

I’ve seen the opportunities that you can get from having a blog. From promoting a business to affiliate marketing, it can change the dynamics of our lives. From the moment we were born, we’re programmed to automatically think that we need to go to school, go to college, graduate, get a good paying job and retire. But sometimes, that plan never goes smoothly for a lot of people. It results in accumulating debt from bad money management, being unhappy with our crappy jobs, and always wishing to do something else that would be more fulfilling in life. Only a few of us reach their dreams with a blog. You may never know that one day it can be you.

Hosting: I get my hosting from Blue Host. For less than $3 per month, owning your own blog is now very affordable. When its times to decide a name for your website, I recommend something that is catchy and easy to remember.

Domain: I stick with WordPress.Org because it’s a very popular platform among the blogging community. I have no issues with it so far so I’m going to continue using it.

Theme: The theme I selected for my blog is called Anni. It’s a premium theme that I bought from Themeforest. There’s a lot of designs to choose from and it’s very affordable. I go with a premium theme because of SEO friendliness.

Now that you have the tools to start a blog, here are some tips to get you started.

  • I highly suggest you write at least 25-30 posts before going live. This was my mistake. The biggest struggle with every blogger is writing new posts every week because we need to find the time to do so. For new bloggers, having written posts will help you stay on schedule with posting and it gives your visitors a few other articles to read.
  • Use Canva or Pic Monkey to create attractive images
  • Create amazing headlines with the help of a Headline Analyzer by CoScheduler. The idea is to draw the attention to your link. Your headline should tell readers what the problem is and how to solve it.

Other Ways to Make Some Extra Income

Earn free gift cards through Swagbucks. When I first got started with Swagbucks, I was on it every day, 2 years have passed since then and although I’m not a daily user as to when I first got started, I’m still pretty active with it. See my tips on how I get free gift cards. You can get great cash back offers using their coupon codes, or build your SB points by answering surveys or watching videos. I personally like to watch their videos.

Sell your stuff. I’ve met a lot of people online who sells their stuff online such as sites through Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Poshmark and Amazon just to name a few. I haven’t tried this myself but I’m very tempted as I have a lot of stuff in great condition that I could sell.

Get a part-time job. If your schedule allows it, a part-time job is a great way to supplement your main income. You can look for jobs on sites like Craigslist, Monster, and Indeed.

Join an affiliate network. One way to monetize your blog is to promote products through an affiliate network, hence the term affiliate marketing. The products you see here on my blog are products that I personally use. The affiliate network that I teamed up with is called ShareASale. It’s free to join and there are many products that you could promote that would fit your niche.
